Wetting Agents: Making Water, Wetter

By Daniel O’Brien, Ph.D. Student, Turfgrass Science • Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, U of A System Division of Agriculture

Daniel O’Brien will talk about ongoing wetting agent research at the University of Arkansas focusing on measurable differences between commercially available products. Specifically, how different products move or retain water throughout sand-based putting green rootzones. Determining product efficacy, longevity, and optimizing reapplication intervals is another focal point of this research. As is utilizing precision agriculture technology to evaluate moisture stress and turfgrass quality, comparing drone data to that collected on the ground with traditional research methodology.
