Rice Breeding Program Updates

Rice breeders Xueyan Sha and Christian de Guzman discuss the most recent varietal releases from the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, which include long-grain varieties Jewel, ProGold 1, and ProGold 2, and medium-grain variety Lynx. Sha and De Guzman will also cover new Clearfield varieties, including the Clearfield long-grain CLL16 and CLL15, and Clearfield medium-grain CLM04.  Potential releases are also discussed, including long-grain varieties 20AR185 and 16AR010, medium-grain variety 17AR127, and Clearfield long-grain varieties 20AR093 and 20AR121. Those in the pipeline are also briefly discussed, including the fast-track-developed Provisia long-grain line 21AYT53 and long-grain hybrid 11X185.
